Department of botany of the Mercy College Palakkad, organized plant collection trip from Malampuzha to Kava island, Palakkad on 05/09/204. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Soumya M and Dr. Seena K K, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany. It was like a Hands on experiences with flora help students retain information better as they can directly observe and interact with the plants, which reinforces theoretical taxonomy learned in class room. It helps to promote environmental stewardship for biodiversity. Students get to apply scientific methods such as observation, data collection and analysis which enhance their scientific inquiry skills. Totally 18 students of Msc Botany benefited the session.
