Alumnae Association of Mercy College

The Alumnae Association of Mercy College serves as a vibrant platform for all former students to stay connected with their Alma Mater. The association had its humble beginnings in 1971 when Sr. Ezechiel and Sr. Leena Jose took the initiative to bring alumni together. Over time, the association grew and was officially registered as a unit under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 on June 24, 1993. Earnestly following the steps of these pioneers, Prof. Dhanalakshmy C., former faculty of dept of Botanycontinues to be at the helm, coordinating the activities of the association

Mercy College About Us

The association holds its Annual General Body Meeting every year on the second Saturday of July, providing a space for alumni to reconnect, share memories, and engage in discussions about the association’s future endeavors.

The association also runs a Home Science Centre, offering a variety of skill enhancement programs such as stitching, tailoring, embroidery, glass painting, fabric painting, cooking, and soft toy making. These courses are open to not only former students but also to women from the nearby community, empowering them with valuable skills.

In addition to educational programs, the Alumnae Association has made several tangible contributions to the college campus. Noteworthy projects include the installation of an elegant gateway at the college entrance, the paving of approach roads, and the provision of garbage bins throughout the campus.

One of the association's core values is supporting those in need. The Alumnae Association actively provides financial assistance to students from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring that they have the resources needed to pursue their academic aspirations.

The Alumnae Association continues to be an enduring presence in the life of the college, extending a helping hand to those who need it most and creating a strong network of Mercy College alumni.
