The SPC at mercy College is dedicated facility designed to provide legal recourse and protection for individual who are victims of domestic violence.SPC started functioning in the year 2008, according to the "Domestic Violence Act 2005," and is aided by the Kerala State Social Welfare Board, Thiruvananthapuram. An experienced advocate works as a Legal Counsellor. SPC has a subcommittee that meets quarterly to evaluate its functioning. The District Protection Officer, District Probation Officer, Police Officials, Lawyers, and ward councillors are included in the subcommittee. Outreach programs are also conducted for women at the grassroots level to make them aware of the Domestic Violence Act and its implications. This typically aims the objectives related to domestic violence and supporting victims.
