Department of English

Research Centre for Comparative Studies, affiliated to the University of Calicut, offers doctoral programme in English.
The Centre has five recognized Research Guides.
Since its inception in 2001, 20 scholars registered at the Centre have been awarded Ph. D degree.
Currently, 12 scholars are pursuing their doctoral degrees.

RAC (Research Admission Committee) meetings are convened to admit new research scholars and to monitor the progress made by the scholars.
The Research Centre publishes its annual journal Pursuits in November-December.
Pursuits is a peer-reviewed journal with ISSN 0974-7400.
The Research Centre also provides library & internet facilities to research scholars and post-graduate students.
Extension lectures by eminent resource persons are arranged for scholars.
Research Forum conducts annual Paper Presentation sessions.
Workshops in Research Methodology are arranged for research scholars every year.
International and National seminars are arranged under the auspices of the Research Centre.
