Seminar on Constitution and Gender Sensitization conducted on 7th March 2022 as a part of Merit day celebrations in the Seminar Hall of Mercy College and a total of 64 students participated. The Seminar begins with the inauguration by Dr.Sr.Gisala George, the Principal of Mercy College, Palakkad and the felicitated the programmed by Dr. Jelly Louis C, the HOD of the Botany, Mercy College. The resource person Adv. Lekshmi A. L, State gender trainer, gave a talk on gender inequalities that are faced by women both in and outside the house. It was an apprising session which questioned the gender biased problems that are faced by women in their daily life. The talk also discussed about the gender disparity in other social and economic sector of the society. By the end of this forum I am sure each of the listener’s got the courage to question the unfairness due to gender. Later we had an interacting session with Suryamol, an alumni of the department who won Best teacher award from Nehru group of Institutions. It was great privilege to the department to honor her for the achievement, and also many other prizes were distributed for the outgoing students for their contribution in curricular and extra-curricular activities which helped the well-being of college and department as well.
