Some of the main instrument include Cooling centrifuge, Homogeniser, Centrifuge, Water bath, Shaking water bath, Microwave oven, Millipore Water purification system, orbital shaking incubator, Hot air oven, Deep Freezer, Refrigerator – 2 Nos, BOD Incubator, Bacteriological Incubator, Distillation Unit, Inoculation Hood.
Plant Tissue culture is air conditioned and sterile with Laminar flow 2 nos and racks with fluorescent light for incubation and maintenance of Plant tissue culture in vitro. Where little plants are grown in a climate chamber or growth chamber for research, breeding or multiplication By using the tissue culture process, a plant’s yield can be increased dramatically, and in a short amount of time.
The chemicals for all media preparation, estimation and other laboratory analysis is found in the store room.
Our department maintains a small library to meet the immediate needs of the students, it is equipped with almost 87 books.
The instrumentation room is equipped with Electronic Weighing balance, pH meter, Colorimeter, UV Visible Spectrophotometer, Bench top shaker, Electrophoresis apparatus, Micropipettes, Vortex mixture, Mortar and Pestle, Gel documentation system, Elisa Reader, UV Transilluminator, Hot plate with Magnetic stirrer, Compound Light microscope(35),Binocular Microscope, Phase contrast Fluorescent Microscope.
The sterilization room contains autoclave, Pressure cookers for sterilizing media and decontaminating the cultures respectively.
