Women Empowerment and Reality

A Panel Discussion on the topic “Women Empowerment and Reality” was jointly organised by the Department of English, Mercy College, in association with OISCA International Women’s Chapter, Palakkad on 4th Match 2022 to commemorate Women’s Day. The speakers of the day were Dr Parvathy Warrier, Vice President of OISCA Women’s Chapter, Palakkad, and Ms Sindhu Harikumar, Coordinator, PRAKASINI, OISCA Women’s Chapter, Palakkad. Six students also participated in the panel discussion. The topics were wide and varied, ranging from dowry harassment, domestic violence, gender inequality, right to education, societal exclusion, patriarchal domination and oppression. The programme was attended by UG and PG students of the department.
