“Akshara” is an extension activity initiated by the Department of English towards service to school children in the neighbourhood. This project is part of the activities charted out by the institution in Ward No.27 of Palakkad Municipality that has been adopted by the college for the current NAAC tenure.
Weekly classes in English grammar and Basic Communication Skills were provided to 39 students of Kallikkad GLP School during the year 2025-26. UG and PG students from the Department of English, Mercy College, Palakkad volunteered for the programme.
