Postgraduate and Research Department of English, Mercy College, Palakkad in association with FoB ( Friends of Bharathapuzha, an NGO established to conserve and rejuvenate Bharathapuzha , under the leadership of highly respected Metroman, Dr. E. Sreedharan) organized a flash mob on the theme ‘Rivers are not Sewers.’ First year undergraduate students of the department presented this programme at different venues like Stadium Bus Stand, Town Bus Stand and Kottamaidanam on 17th March 2022. To commemorate ‘World Water Day ‘2,‘ students of the Department presented a flash mob at Prasanna Mahaganapathy Mandapam in the heritage village, Kalpathy, on 22nd March 2022. Dr. E. Sreedharan , President, FoB, spoke on the occasion, stressing the importance of saving Bharathapuzha from all kinds of pollutants – inorganic sewage/ plastic, etc. Certificates were presented to the students who participated in the programme. Smt. Anadalakshmi, Secretary( Palakkad chapter), FoB, also spoke on the occasion.
