The Department of Economics at Mercy College recently collaborated with Dr. Karthika P, Associate Professor at the College of Business and Economics, Kebri Dahar University, Ethiopia, to organize a two-day certification program focusing on the fundamentals of the securities market. Held at Mercy College's EV seminar hall on 18 and 19 September 2023, the program aimed to equip college students with essential knowledge and skills pertaining to securities markets. Dr. Karthika P, leading the sessions, provided a comprehensive overview of the securities market, covering topics such as financial instruments, market participants, regulatory frameworks, and investment strategies. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and group discussions, students gained practical insights into the functioning of securities markets and the nuances of investment decision-making. The program concluded with a certification examination, assessing the students' understanding and proficiency in the subject matter. Overall, the collaboration between Mercy College and Kebri Dahar University facilitated a fruitful educational experience, empowering students with the necessary expertise to navigate the complexities of the securities market and make informed investment decisions in the future.
