MONETA - ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION - 2023-2

Department of Economics and Sociology, Mercy College Palakkad conducted Association Inauguration “Moneta” 2023-24 on 07.07.2023. The function was inaugurated by Dr. Pradeep P, Assistant professor, department of Economics, Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. He addressed the function by delivering a talk on Rudiments of SDGs: A Stride towards Sustainable development. He delivered wide knowledge on sustainable development and its 17 goals. The sustainable development goals are blue print to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. He presented the 17 goals such as No poverty, zero hunger, good health and wellbeing, quality education, gender equality and so on. The 17 goals are interconnected and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030 He also addressed the global challenges we face including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change and environmental degradation, peace and justice. Moreover, the students also shared their views and thoughts which can be followed in schools and colleges for a sustainable nation. A doubt clearing sessionwas also there. Relevant talk on phenomenon of green revolution and significance of sustainable development added with information on indicators like HDI was also presented in this session.
