MODEL PARLIAMENT COMPETITION 2024-2025 REPORT A model parliament was conducted by Department of economics and sociology, under the join auspices of the institute of parliamentary affairs, Government of Kerala on 21st January 2025.The purpose of model parliament competition is to stimulate the workings of a real parliamentary system, providing students -with a practical understanding of legislative processes, governance and decision making .It fosters critical thinking, debate and collaboration, while encouraging students to engage with current socio-political issues. Almost 5 5students from UG and PG of different departments were participated in the competition. Topics such as new education policy, employment opportunities, tax system, women’s safety and security etc were discussed in the model parliament. The event was inaugurated by Hon.MP, V.K Sreekandan. The college principal, Dr. sister Jorry TF, Presided over the function. Former joint secretary of the Kerala legislative assembly, sri. k. Purushothaman and Deputy secretary sri. K.K. Balamurali Krishnan, served as judges. After the feedback Ms Ayswarya V , Assistant professor of Department of Economics, delivered vote of Thanks. The programme was coordinated by Ms Ayswarya V.
