The Department of Economics and Sociology in association with Sahajeevanam Palliative care conducted a general motivational seminar ‘Pain and Palliative Care Sensitization among Youth’ on 10/1/2023 at 12.00 pm in EV Seminar Hall. The theme of the seminar was to make the students aware of the specialized medical care for people living with a serious illness. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Deepa. N, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. The session was handled by Mr. Gireesh from Sahajeevanam Palliative Care. The teachers and students from the Department of Economics participated in the session. The session made the students to understand the need of helping hand for others. The session also provides a wonderful opportunity to the students to express their new ideas and thoughts. Today, the students of economics collected fund for palliative care within the campus. Also we decided to conduct a student initiative for collecting fund from outside the campus on 13/01/2023 as a part of Palliative Care Day observation.
