The Department of Social Work, Mercy College,Palakkad, observed World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2025 with greatcompassion and purpose on 13thJune 2025 at Pakalveedu,Puthupariyaram. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about elderabuse, foster intergenerational bonding, and promote respect and care for theelderly in our community.
As part of the observance, a group of enthusiasticsocial work students visited Pakalveedu and organized a series of recreational and interactive activitiesfor the elderly residents. The students engaged the participants through singing, dancing, and fun games, whichbrought smiles, laughter, and emotional warmth to the elderly. The event wasdesigned to offer not only entertainment but also a sense of companionship andemotional support.
