World Mental Health Day is observed globally on 10th Octoberevery year to raise awareness about mental health issues and to mobilizeefforts in support of mental health care. In alignment with this year’s globaltheme, “No Health Without Mental Health – Even in Emergencies,” theDepartment of Social Work organized multiple activities to engage students andpromote the significance of maintaining psychological health even inchallenging circumstances. As a prelude to themain event, a poster-making competition was conducted on 8thOctober 2025 based on the theme “No Health Without Mental Health –Even in Emergencies.” Theformal observance of World Mental Health Day 2025was held on 10th October 2025. Theprogramme was inaugurated by Dr. Sr. Louly N. M., Principal,Mercy College, Palakkad. In her inaugural address, she emphasized the need for prioritizing mentalhealth, particularly in academic settings, and encouraged students to seek helpand maintain emotional balance. Following the inauguration, the departmentorganized an open-space campaign titled “Mindure.” The campaign featured aninnovative and interactive poster that invited students to write, draw, or paste theirthoughts, emotions, and reflections related to mental health. An exhibitionon mental health was arranged in the college premises as part of theobservance. The exhibition showcased chartsand presentations on various mentalillnesses such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolardisorder. Informative displays related to positive mental health, stressmanagement techniques, and self-carepractices. A special section on psychological assessment tools, which included, Self-Esteem Scale, Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Testand SWOT Analysis.
