The P.G Department of Mathematics and Statistics had organized a Workshop on “Basics of Mathematics” for UG Second year students. The main objective of this workshop was to improve the basic mathematical concepts in slow learners. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr.Sr.Jorry T F, HoD of Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Mercy College, Palakkad, on 03.7.2021 at 2pm. The workshop was handled by an eminent resource person, Smt. Sheela P Koikkara, former HoD of Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Mercy College, Palakkad. A total of 49 students from various departments actively participated in this workshop. The topics which were covered in this workshop included operations on real numbers, polynomials , Solutions of equations, sets, relations and functions, matrices and determinants, basic differentiation and integration. The workshop was conducted online on all Saturdays at 11am through Google Meet. The students got thoroughly benefitted from the workshop and got a strong foundation on the basics.
