The Language Department of Mercy College, Palakkad organised Mother Language Day celebration on the occasion of World Mother Language Day (21-02-2022) . On February 21 at 11 a.m. everyone in the college took the language pledge. Lia Chacko, a first year BA English student, recited a poem ‘ Ammayudeezhuthukal’ written by Sugathakumari Teacher. Various writing competitions were organized on the occasion of World Mother Language Day on 21st February 2022. Sreelakshmi S of 1st year BCom CA won 1st prize in Essay writing and Swathy A of 1st year BA Economics won 2nd prize in Essay writing. Arathi K R of 1st year BSc Physics won 1st prize in Poetry .
