Workshop on Computational chemistry

The Postgraduate and Research Department ofChemistry, Mercy College, Palakkad, organised a one-day workshop on ComputationalChemistry on 11th June 2025. The eventaimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals and applications ofcomputational  chemistry. Dr.Jayasree E.G., Professor, Department of Applied Chemistry, CochinUniversity of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi was the resource person.Dr. Jayasree, an expert in the field, delivered an insightful session on thetheoretical background and practical aspects of computational chemistry,emphasizing its growing importance in modern scientific investigations. A totalof 26 students actively participated in the programme. Theworkshop included interactive sessions, demonstrations of software tools, anddiscussions on molecular modeling and quantum chemical calculations. Theparticipants showed keen interest and enthusiasm throughout the event, makingit an engaging and enriching academic experience. The department expressessincere gratitude to Dr. Jayasree E.G. for her valuable contribution and to allthe participants for making the programme a success.
