MScstudents from PG and Research Department of Chemistry gave the demonstrationand synthesise bioplastic from weeds which was a promising approach tosustainable development by converting invasive plants into valuable materials. Studentscollected weeds from their home and put sodium hydroxide into that in order toremove the lignin and hemicellulose content and after all the chemicaltreatment poured the cellulose into the plain sheet with starch. Then weallowed it to dry. Finally, we got the bioplastic out of it. The scalability ofthis weed-based bioplastics, contributing to a greener and more sustainablefuture.
