The department of computer applications of Mercy College, Palakkad organized ‘Each One, Plant One’ to observe World Environmental Day on 5th June from 12:50pm to 1:50pm. Saplings were distributed to all the students of the department by HOD, Sr. Jainy Jacob M. Two saplings were planted in the college campus by the students. The objective of the program is to make aware the students about the need of preserving nature and plants. Saplings distributed were asked to be planted in their house premises and update the growth of the plant very often as a report to the department. Students and staffs together also cleaned and arranged a small garden in front of the department entrance. World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5th to raise awareness and promote action for the protection of the environment. This day provides individuals to come together and address environmental issues on global. The program was coordinated by HOD and Staff Coordinator, Sr. Jainy Jacob M and Student Coordinator, Grace Joy of D2 BCA. 31 students and 3 staffs participated in the program.
