JAZZY TALES

The department of computer applications of Mercy College, Palakkad organized “JAZZY TALES’ to observe National Reading Week on 23rd June from 12:50pm to 1:50pm. The Competition was a Story Theme Painting Competition conducted for the students of the college. The students were given a list of books to be read and the theme of the book is to be painted in the canvas in the time given. This program was organised to improve and boost reading habits among students. Reading is indeed one of the best hobbies that one can have. Children are encouraged to read because it enhances their vocabulary, helps them understand how to read and write, and make them understand different topics and gain knowledge about the world and everyday life, know about different cultures, traditions and much more. After all, there is a famous quote by Dr Seuss, “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” A total of 10 participants registered and 7 participated in the competition. The winners were announced and cash prizes were awarded. The program was coordinated Staff Coordinator, Stency V S, Head of the Department Sr. Jainy Jacob M and Student Coordinator, Aneena Roy of D2 BCA.
