The first session on the topic ‘mobile forensics: an overview’ was conducted in the seminar hall, on 22nd of August 2022.the session was started at 10 a.m. in the morning with a prayer by Hima and Aswathi of D2 BCA and session ended at 12.30 p.m. Mrs. Deepthy Jose delivered the welcome speech and Rev. Sr. Dr. Jorry T.F. , vice principal, HOD of Mathematics delivered the presidential address. then, the session was handled by Mr. Sukrith B., faculty associate of Amrita Viswa Vidhyapeetham, Kochi. he is an enthusiastic researcher in computer science and forensics and a pivotal in setting up of cyber intelligence and consultant in Kerala police Academy. the session was very informative. Mr. Sukrith covered the topics about cyberspace, cyber security, cyber forensics and reached mobile forensics, the key topic. Mobile forensics, a sub topic of digital forensics, is concerned with retrieving data from an electronic source. the recovery of evidence from mobile devices and tablets is the focus of mobile forensics. He also presented the drawbacks of mobile phones in day to day lives. from the session we could understand that it is not safe to have sensitive information on mobile phones and social media , and also on other digital devices. Cyber crimes and their types were also part of the discussion and explained about the IT Act of India. He also gave examples of tools used for the extraction of data from mobile devices and the working of it, which are using by Kerala police for collecting evidences from mobiles or any other digital devices. The session was very beneficial and it was the first session on the topic of cyber security and certificates are also provided for those who are eligible. Later, a token of gratitude was presented by the HOD of Computer Applications Rev. Sr. Jainy Jacob. Finally, Maya Prasad of D3 BCA delivered the Vote of Thanks. The session was dispersed at 12.30 p.m.
