“Akshara” is an extensionactivity initiated by the Department of English towards service to schoolchildren in the neighbourhood. This project is part of the activities chartedout by the institution in Ward No.27 of Palakkad Municipality that has beenadopted by the college for the current NAAC tenure.
Weekly classes in Englishgrammar and Basic Communication Skills were provided to 39 students ofKallikkad GLP School during the year 2025-26. UG and PG students from theDepartment of English, Mercy College, Palakkad volunteered for the programme.
