BUILDING RESILIENCE: LIFE SKILLS FOR A CHANGING WORLD

Aone-day workshop on life skill education, “Building Resilience: Life Skills fora Changing World,” was conducted the Department of social work, mercy college, Palakkadon January 14, 2026. Led by Mr. Ajay R V, case worker, Kaval project, Tiruvananthapuram.The workshop aimed to equip participants with essential life skills to navigatethe challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Theinteractive session included various activities and tasks designed to enhanceresilience, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Participantsengaged in group discussions, role-plays, and reflective exercises, fostering asupportive environment for sharing experiences and learning from one another.

Keytopics explored during the workshop included self-awareness, emotionalregulation, effective communication, and stress management. These skills arecrucial for adolescents and young adults to cope with academic pressure, socialexpectations, and mental health challenges. The program coordinated by Dr. Sr.Sherin Joseph, faculty, Ms. Sunitha A and Ms. Malavika R Warrier, studentcoordinators.

Byfocusing on life skills education, the workshop emphasized the importance ofadaptability, empathy, and social responsibility in today’s fast-paced world.Participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and practical tools to applyin their personal and professional lives.
