January29, 2026, the Department of Social Work, in collaboration with the DistrictChild Protection Unit, organized an awareness campaign at Stadium Bus Stand tocombat child labour and child begging. The event aimed to sensitize the publicabout the issues and promote collective action.

Aflash mob and street play performed by social work students drew significantattention, effectively conveying the message. The performances highlighted theplural impact of child labour and begging on children’s well-being and future.

Thecampaign reached a wide audience, with passer-by stopping to watch and engagewith the message. Students distributed pamphlets and shared information,further amplifying the impact. The program coordinated by Dr. Sr. Sherin Joseph,faculty, Ms. Keerthi U and Ms. Sriya C P, student coordinators.

Theevent emphasized the importance of protecting children’s rights and promotingtheir well-being. By engaging the community, the campaign aimed to contributeto a safer environment for vulnerable children.

Thecollaborative effort highlighted the department’s commitment to social causesand student involvement in creating positive change. The event was a valuablelearning experience, fostering empathy and social responsibility among participants.
