TheDepartment of social work organized a workshop on ‘Research Methods andTechniques: A Hands-on Approach’ on February 3, 2026, at the Seminar Hall. Ledby Mr. Joshi Kurian C, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department,department of social work, St. Mary’s College, Thrissur. The workshop aimed toequip participants with practical skills in research methodology.
Theinteractive session included hands-on exercises, group activities, anddiscussions on various research techniques. Participants learned about researchdesign, data collection, and analysis methods, gaining valuable insights toenhance their research skills. Mr. Joshi Kurian C shared his expertise, guidingparticipants through the research process and addressing queries. The workshopcovered topics such as literature review, sampling techniques, and dataanalysis tools, providing a comprehensive understanding of research methods.The program coordinated by Ms. Aswathy S, faculty, Ms. Athulya and Ms. Anjaly PX, student coordinators.
Theevent saw active participation from students and faculty, who appreciated thepractical approach and relevance of the workshop content. The hands-onactivities helped participants grasp complex concepts, making the workshop avaluable learning experience.
Theworkshop concluded with a Q&A session, where participants clarified doubtsand received feedback on their research ideas. The Department plans to organizesimilar events to foster research skills and academic excellence.
