THEATRE WORKSHOP

Acomprehensive theatre workshop was conducted by the department of Social Work,Mercy College Palakkad in collaboration with Ellora Foundation, Koduvayur on 29thDecember 2025.  Mr. Aswin R. M, esteemedActing Trainer and Theatre Artist, led the workshop with the objective ofaugmenting the participants’ creative expression, communication skills,confidence, and teamwork. The highly interactive and activity-based sessionwitnessed active participation from the trainees, who engaged in a range oftheatre exercises, role plays, and improvisational activities.

Theseactivities were meticulously designed to facilitate the trainees’ overcoming ofstage fear, enhancement of public speaking skills, and development of a nuancedunderstanding of group coordination. The workshop provided a supportive andencouraging environment, empowering participants to express themselves openlyand creatively. The interactive nature of the session enabled the participantsto explore their creative potential, build confidence, and develop a deeperunderstanding of the importance of teamwork. The workshop was deemed highlysuccessful, with participants deriving immense benefit from Mr. Aswin R. M’sexpertise and guidance. The program coordinated by Ms. Aswathy S, faculty, Ms.Gopika U and Ms. Vrinda Das, student coordinators.

Theoutcomes of this workshop are expected to be reflected in the student’senhanced ability to engage with diverse communities, communicate effectively,and demonstrate confidence in their chosen profession. The Department isconfident that the skills and experiences gained from this workshop will have alasting impact on the trainees, enabling them to make a positive difference inthe lives of others.
