OnWorld Cancer Day 2026, our department organized a multifaceted event to raiseawareness and support cancer patients on February 4, 2026.  The event featured a hair donation campaign,awareness session, and a impactful street play performance at the collegeauditorium.

Around23 individuals generously donated their hair, with lengths of 30 cm, to supportcancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The donated hair will be handed overto Amala Hospital, Thrissur which makes wigs for cancer patients.

Dr.Sreevidya M P, Palana Hospital, Palakkad, a renowned gynaecologist, led anawareness session, shedding light on cancer prevention, early detection, andtreatment options. Her insights helped attendees understand the importance ofcancer awareness and the role they can play in supporting those affected.

Theevent also featured a powerful street play performance by social work students,highlighting the impact of cancer on individuals and families. The performancesparked meaningful conversations and encouraged attendees to act. The programcoordinated by Ms. Sreya M, faculty, Ms. Dilsha D and Ms. Yasmin P A, studentcoordinators.

Theevent aimed to reduce stigma around cancer and promote early detection andsupport. By engaging the community, we hope to make a difference in the livesof those affected by cancer. The event saw enthusiastic participation fromstudents, faculty, and community members, demonstrating our collectivecommitment to supporting cancer patients and promoting awareness.
