Webinar on Salient Features of NEP, Our Concerns and Strategies

PG Department of Mathematics, Mercy College, Palakkad conducted a webinar on the Salient Features of NEP, Our Concerns and Strategies through an online platform google meet on 13th December 2021 at 2.00 pm. The resource person was Fr.Joye James S J, secretary, Jesuit Higher Education in South Asia, vice president at Indian social institute, Bengaluru.The substantial Impetus placed on vocational education or hands-on learning in the new policy will give rise to multiple hybrid jobs. With the rapid progression of information technology, and to be able to offer the students a much broader, multidisciplinary foundation, he expressed the importance of using a holistic and multidisciplinary learning approach which will help the learners adapt and reinvent themselves to the demands of the new hybrid work culture and dynamic socio-cultural changes. He highlighted the National Educational Technology Forum which provides independent evidence-based advice, builds institutional and intellectual capacities, envisions strategic thrust, articulate new directions, and also research. Fr. Joye James S J concluded the session by emphasizing the challenges faced in accessing online and offline content. The webinar very informative and gave the opportunity to learn many issues in regards to NEP. NEP 2020 will open up new learning opportunities to the students. Its biggest impact would be the change in the learning environment and the learning process for the students. The new education policy will increase focus on the skill improvement and competency development of the students. Around 80 faculties attended the webinar and were given the E – certificate.
