The Department of computer applications and commerce jointly conducted a national workshop on “financial principles in daily life” on 28th November, 2022 at 1 pm in the college auditorium. The resource person was Mr. John joy, trainer at Pips Technology Llp, Ernakulam. Financial education is very essential to a successful life, be it a personal or professional. Financial literacy helps the students to deal with money in the best way and also helps them to make critical financial decisions of their own money. The main objective of the workshop is to impart the money management skill among the students and never let them overburden of debt in their life. Basics of financial principles and its practical application in everyday life including banking, budgeting, handling debt and credit and investments were discussed in the session. The session involved various group activities for the students. It was an interactive session and he also answered the questions asked by the students after the session. Around 250 students benefited from the session and the learning outcomes of the workshop were how to manage their personal finances, importance of savings, knowledge about bonds, debentures, trading and equities, investments etc.
