On July 24, 2023, at 12.50 pm, the student union at Mercy College in Palakkad, “Inizio,” hosted a memorial service in honor of Sri Oomen Chandy, a former chief minister of Kerala. Sri K.A. Chandran, a former state legislator, gave the condolence speech. Dr. Sr. Jorry T.F., Ms. Harshida Haridas (D2 History), and Ms.T. Gopika (D2 Commerce) spoke in the program. All staff and students were present.
