In connection with the 17th National Statistics Day, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics organized a talk on “Importance of Statistics” for Second Year UG students of the Department of Mathematics on 5th July 2023 at 1pm in EV 33 classroom of the college. The talk was given by Ms. Varsha Krishnan, Assistant Professor on contract, Dept. of Mathematics, Mercy College, Palakkad. 27 students attended the programme. The talk emphasized the importance of Statistics in various aspects of national development and highlights the role of statistics in policy formulation, planning, and decision-making. The job opportunities in the field of statistics were also discussed.
