‘Captain Lakshmi’ – commemorating the National Hero, Exhibition in connection with 75th year of Indian independence was conducted by the Department of History and Political Science, Mercy College, Palakkad. Captain Lakshmi, a renowned freedom fighter and first woman leader of INA Jhansi regiment, belongs to Palakkad district. One of the reasons behind the selection of Palakkad district as one among the 75 districts of India to be a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Maholsav is Palakkad being the birth place of Captain Lakshmi. In association with the District Collectorate, the Department of History and Political Science, Mercy College, Palakkad organized a Poster Exhibition in the campus. Dr. Sr. Gisalla George, Principal, inaugurated the exhibition and addressed the student community.
