The PG Department of Commerce, Mercy College, Palakkad in association with Janamaithri Police organised “KAVACH” – Self Defence Class on 20th October 2023 in the auditorium at 9.30 Am. The event was hosted by Ms. Arathi R and it begin with a prayer by Ms. Gopika and Ms. Mridula. Ms. Aysha S welcomed the gathering. The event was inaugurated by Sri R Manoj Kumar, DYSP Narcotic Cell, Palakkad. He delivered informative speech on various Women Protection Acts, Dr. Sr. Jorry T F, Principal, Mercy College, Palakkad delivered Presidential address. Ms Ramya John, Head of the department felicitated the event. Then training on self-defence was given by the team lead by ASI Sarala. WCPO Ushas, WCPO Sajitha and WCPO Bindu were training team members. Training was given to third year B Com C A and B Com finance students. More than 100 students were benefitted out of the programme. The event successfully ended at 1.00 Pm by vote of thanks by Ms. Reshmi.
