Online workshop on “Basics of Webpage Designing” The Department of Computer Applications in connection with IT Club conducted a five day online workshop on the topic “Basics of Webpage Designing” from 30th Nov 2020 to 04th Dec 2020. It aimed at providing the students, from streams of studies other than Computer Science/Applications, with the basic idea to build a webpage using HTML. The hands-on training consisted of one hour sessions each, scheduled from 1.30pm to 2.30 for five days. Students from our second year BCA made this event a grand success by organizing and conducting the sessions by putting in their whole hearted efforts. It was the first time in the history of our department that the students themselves got the opportunity to handle this kind of training sessions; Five of our students namely A. Annie Neethu, PoojaLakshmi. V, Krishna. R, Syamini. P and Arya. S have efficiently proved their skills in their respective sessions on these five days. Around 20 students from other departments of our college got benefitted from this workshop. Day 1 : 30th November 2020 Ms. A. Annie Neethu gave an introduction to HTML. She demonstrated how to create a webpage with the basic tags in HTML. Day 2 : 01th December 2020 Ms. PoojaLakshmi. V elaborated on the formatting tags used in HTML. She explained the various options available for using fonts, tables & marquees in a webpage using appropriate examples. Day 3 : 02th December 2020 Ms. Krishna. R gave an insight into the use of images, audio & video inside a HTML page. With the support of sample programs, she demonstrated the inclusion of image, audio and video in a webpage. Day 4 : 03th December 2020 Ms. Syamini. P provided information about using Anchor tags that helps in connecting one webpage to another using hyperlinks. She further explained the various types of lists that can be used in a HTML page. Day 5 : 04th December 2020 Ms. Arya. S guided the participants with the use of HTML forms. This helped them to understand how to insert controls like text box, check box, radio button, etc into a webpage using forms.
