The Department of Economics and Sociology,Mercy College Palakkad has organised “Pononapulari” as a part of onam celebration on 24/08/23,Thursday,at EV seminar hall. Dr. Liji .K.T HOD, Department of Economics, Assistant Professors, and all UG and PG students attended the programme. The celebrations started with setting up of an attractive floral decoration (Pookalam) infront of the department that was reminiscent of the agrarian part of Kerala, onam is the state festival of Kerala , it depicts the symbol of happiness, prosperity and it commemorates the New years day and it is also recognized as a harvest festival. The main attractions of the programme were classical dance performed by Revathy, D2 Economics, Thiruvathira of D2 Economics students and other various programmes. Dr. Liji .K.T. ,HOD addressed the gathering and conveyed greetings and wishes of the festival. The programme was welcomed by Sohusanthi, of D3 Economics. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Nitha .M ,D3 Economics.
