(Certificate course on ‘Employability Training Program’) MPC is a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) livelihood program of the Mahindra & Mahindra group and is fully implemented by Naandi foundation, a public charitable trust. It was a part of the CSR initiative of the Mahindra & Mahindra group since the entire programme was free of cost. Their aim is to provide employability skill training to the students. They helped us to enhance soft skills, life skills, domain skills, communication skill through 6 days training. The entire training session was handled by Chinchu K Bhavani, a member of Naandi foundation. The training session were started from 22.08.2022 and completed on Monday to 27.08.2022 Saturday at seminar hall, Mercy college . Day 1: The students were divided into groups and discussed about “Am I unique?” and a pre-assessment form was filled by each student.The session was scheduled from 9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m. Day 2: Discussions and trainings on professional grooming, self introduction, importance of English communication, etc. were given importance in the second day training. Activities and training sessions were included to improve the communication skill and language.The session was scheduled from 9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m. Day 3: Third day included a session on Interview Preparation- in this various aspects such as body postures, gestures, eye contact, communication during interview, etc. were discussed and trained.The session was scheduled from 9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m. Day 4: Fourth day session was on Resume Preparation and to improve our presentation skill. The students were divided into groups and were assigned topics for each group to present on. The topics covered the areas such as job opportunities after BCA, top IT companies and their salary packages. The session was scheduled from 9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m. Day 5: Fifth day included training on Group Discussion, which is a major part of Campus Placement Drive, where the students need more guidance. After the sessions, Mock Group Discussions were conducted.The session was scheduled from 9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m. Day 6: Individual mock interviews were conducted on 27.08.2022 Saturday . A Valedictory Function was organized in the afternoon and every participant was awarded with the certificate. Best performer Award and Most improved Candidate Award were given to selected candidates. As part of employability skill training, the students were given training on soft skills, interview preparation, resume preparation, Group Discussion, communication skill so on. Around 25 students attended and benefited from this training session.
