The Department of Languages (Malayalam), Mercy College, Palakkad in collaboration with Mathrubhumi Daily ,Organized a Thought Provoking Discussion Program on the Topic “SWATHANTHRYATHINTE NANARTHANGAL” ( The multiple meanings of freedom). The event was held on 08/01/2025 and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty members and representatives from Mathrubhumi Daily. The discussion featured insightful deliberations by students on various dimensions of freedom, including political ,social, cultural and personal aspects. The session was moderated by Adv. Gowja Vijaya Kumar. Participants engaged in critical reflections on historical perspectives of independence, the evolving nature of individual rights and the challenges of freedom in the present context. Students also brought in the references from literature cinema and current socio political contexts making the discussion dynamic and engaging .
